Description
Discovery of the manufacturing secrets of SEQUOIA Single Malt Whisky.
Enter the buildings and discover all the stages of the transformation of barley into whisky (beer, stills, cellars).
Visit followed by a tasting of Sequoia bottlings.
The Distillerie du Vercors is located in the Domaine De Flandaine, a former silkworm farm from the 17th century. This building became the birthplace of Single Malt Whiskey called “Séquoia”, a name chosen in homage to the bicentennial Sequoia which sits majestically in the middle of the Distillery courtyard.
What sets the Distillerie du Vercors apart is its commitment to producing entirely organic, homemade whiskey. For a whisky, it begins with the transformation of the cereal (barley) into beer then its distillation and aging in pretty wooden barrels. Eric, the Master Distiller, created his own still, the “Nautilus”. Launched in 2016, Nautilus is designed to distill at low temperature, 50°C instead of the usual 100°C for whisky. This technical prowess and the gentle atmosphere of this isolated place in the countryside make Séquoia an exceptional whiskey, multi-awarded at the international level.
SEQUOIA whiskeys are organic, brewed, distilled, aged and bottled by the Distillerie du Vercors.
