Step-by-step itinerary
You will have complete freedom to choose your starting point, but its location will make us prefer the village of Saint-Nazaire-en-Royans and its aqueduct, gateway to Royans. Accessibility is made easy by train (Saint-Hilaire/Saint-Nazaire station) and allows you to easily engage on the Isère Valley Greenway cycle route (V63) to reach Saint-Romans. The route then rises towards Saint-André-en-Royans; a village grouped around its 12th century castle which invites you to take a stroll through history. It is very easy to reach Pont-en-Royans halfway. It is advisable to leave the Bourne valley to come along the cliffs and discover the panoramas of the Goulets then of Combe Laval by taking the old tramway line which allows you to reach Saint-Jean-en-Royans. A succession of climbs and descents through the walnut groves leads to the villages of La Motte-Fanjas then Saint-Nazaire-en-Royans and its characteristic red rocks.
