Description

A route with fun and sometimes challenging trails. The passage to Devil's Gate is worth a stop under the rocky arch. The rest of the varied route allows you to discover the Allier Forest.

Step-by-step itinerary

De St-Julien-en-Vercors (alt. 913m), turn left at the cemetery and follow the path until The Martelière (alt. 920m).

Continue straight ahead, pass the cow pens and enter the forest to reach the Devil's Gate (alt. 918m).

Continue on the path. At the track, turn left to reach ponson (alt. 897m).

Turn right, go through Le Devet (alt. 885m) and continue left along the path until Serre Bouchet (alt. 880m).

Turn right, follow a sometimes technical and steep climb in the middle of a forest to reach Les Combettes (alt. 1022m).

Take the track that goes up. Continue straight ahead (viewpoint) before reaching the Lili's Cabin (alt. 1145m).

Turn left. Follow a path winding through the Allier woods until you reach Micoulas (alt. 1150m).

Turn left. Further on the right a path leads to a track. Go down to Dorgne (alt. 1148m).

Take a technical climb on the left. Follow the markings through the valley to descend to Cendron (alt. 1016m).

Follow a path opposite that goes into the forest. Pass The Morands (alt. 995m) and left reach Le Briac (alt. 1005m).

Continue straight ahead up a steep climb. Higher up on the right, a path through the undergrowth descends to The Domarières (alt. 919m).

Take the road on the left passing the Alberts (alt. 885). Further to the left, a path leads to the Barons (alt. 895m).

Turn right and go back up the road. Return to the starting point.
