Between the remarkable “Goulets” road and that of Combe Laval, a circuit full of emotion! (156km)
The must-sees: the remarkable roads of Petits Goulets and Combe Laval. The historic national site of the Resistance (Memorial – with significant museography - Necropolis, Museum in Vassieux-en-Vercors, Court of the executed at Chapelle-en-Vercors, the Grotte de la Luire in St-Agnan-en-Vercors… ). The Col de Rousset, a resort open to the practice of a variety of sports depending on the season. Léoncel (Cistercian abbey), the Col des Limouches and the splendid panorama over the Valence plain.
The plus of this circuit: St-Nazaire-en-Royans and its ferruginous red rock (wheelboat, Grotte de Thaïs, aqueduct). La-Chapelle-en-Vercors, the bell tower of the XNUMXth century church, the Chapelle St-Antoine and the golf course (another golf course on your circuit in Charpey). Vassieux-en-Vercors: the little world of figurines and the Museum of Prehistory with its flint cutting workshop. The Cave of the Draye Blanche.
Did you know ? : A gully means a “defile”, a road cut into the rock a series of small tunnels. The Petits and Grands Goulets route runs along the Vernaison gorges, a small, fast-flowing river nestled in deep gorges. This road, following the shape of the cliff, is winding and narrow, making crossings tricky but offering a truly beautiful spectacle.

Heritage to discover
Cistercian Abbey of LéoncelCistercian Abbey of Léoncel
A Cistercian abbey founded in 1137 and listed as a Historic Monument by Prosper Mérimée in 1840, the choir features a robust and uncluttered Romanesque style. The nave shows signs of a discreet evolution towards the Gothic style.

Saint-Jean Damascene Workshop
School of sacred art, icon, fresco, mosaic created in 1965. Permanent exhibition. Visit the 2 chapels (one in Romanesque style decorated with frescoes, the other in wood, from Ukraine) and the workshops.

The Little Goulets
The road has been cut into the rock, and the sun never penetrates the Goulets gorge, mossy and humid. It feels like entering a cave. The Vernaison descends in cascades and the road is corbelled along the wall.
