Description

With their poetic folk music that resonates deeply with everyone, this subtle and ancestral energy that celebrates the beauty of life, Rangé Sauvage will be a new sensory experience: intimate, essential. A candlelit folk music concert.

With No Mad, every song is a story. For this new creation, the quintet reunites with Pierre Dodet, a master of words, and continues its journey close to life itself, to where the need for refuge is most apparent. No Mad offers us poems as one finds new strength to be in the world; in their world there are magical tales, wild beasts watching over us, and great passages of light reflecting our lives, our sorrows, our tenderness. Because somewhere there is always a crackling fire, a rumbling storm, a blink of an eye, and an unwavering audacity. It is both gentle and wild. “Everything fades away and everything must be cared for,” like a recurring mantra.

With the richness of its vocal ensemble, its powerful harmonies, and its generous array of instruments (clarinets, cello, viola, percussion, harmonium…), No Mad continues its exploration of the immense dynamic and expressive palette that only the acoustic dimension allows. Through their own hushed, sometimes baroque, universe, the five singer-musicians intertwine their voices, strings, breaths, and percussion. The candlelight invites the audience to listen closely. Shifting and barely revealing expressions, it invites us to immerse ourselves in the flickering lights, surrounded by darkness and its memories, our imagination, our fears, and our dreams.
