Description
Final stage of the Great Royal Canin Odyssey,
Villard de Lans is pleased to host this international sled dog competition for the 4th time (with more than 65 mushers and their 600 dogs on a 400km course and 12m of elevation gain).
This event brings together over 13 days, more than 65 international mushers and their 600 dogs, who at the end of 11 stages will have covered nearly 400 km and 12 m of cumulative D+, in the superb landscapes of the Rhône-Alpes region.
The program for the 2026 edition
Bois Barbu - Villard de Lans
• From 10am to 16pm: Great Odyssey Village
Great North activities, discover the mushers at the Wiki'Musher stand, Vercouline tasting, the Official Shop, drawing competition, games corner, quizzes and gifts, photo session with the mascot Sitka and many other activities!
• From 11:30 am: competition begins with sleds departing every 2 minutes. First arrivals from 12:15 pm
• Podium: around 13 p.m.
Place de la Libération - Villard de Lans
• 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM: Awards ceremony - closing ceremony
Free and open access to all in the departure area.
(Access to the route prohibited to pedestrians).
Where to park?
We recommend leaving your car in the parking lots in the village center and then taking the free shuttle bus that will drop you off at the start of the competition. The shuttle runs continuously all day from the village center to the Bois Barbu site.
On the way from the bus station to Bois Barbu: 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. - 13:30 p.m. - 14:30 p.m. - 15:30 p.m. - 17:10 p.m.
On the way back from Bois Barbu to the bus station: 9 a.m. - 10 a.m. - 11 a.m. - 12 p.m. - 13 p.m. - 14 p.m. - 15 p.m. - 16 p.m. - 17:30 p.m.
Please note:
- that dogs will not be allowed near the competition (even on a leash).
