Description

Are there links between Baroque, contemporary, and traditional music? If so, how can two musicians transcend these styles to create a unique concert?

Audrey SPROULE, violin
Raphaël MORALY, cello

Canadian violinist Audrey Sproule and French cellist Raphaël Moraly explore the possible connections between these musical traditions through a rich and varied program for violin and cello. Featuring works by Heinrich Biber (1644-1704), selections from the Canadian folk repertoire, music by living composers such as Frédéric Aurier and Antonin Rey, as well as a newly commissioned work by Canadian folk composer Ben Plotnik (The Fretless), this duo takes its audience on an eclectic and cross-border musical journey.
