A show written, directed, and performed by Yves Béal, Frédérique Maïaux, and Mikaël Depalma, aiming to reconcile all generations with poetry by blending poetry, music, and theatre. Suitable for ages 10 and up.

The intention: "Poetry bores me and I don't understand it!" aims to reconcile all generations with poetry by blending poetry, music, and theater. An unusual and modern encounter with poetry as an ever-relevant perspective on the world (love, war, resistance, the earth and its climate, brotherhood, life...), an encounter with the generations that came before us and their history, an encounter with music that blends bouzouki and accordion with rap rhythms, an encounter with artists always ready to engage with the audience.

The premise: Victor and Elsa, the grandparents, have passed away. Their grandchildren are finishing emptying the house… and memories resurface with each object found in the last trunk. Everything is imbued with poetry, and while offering an intimate glimpse into their story, it's also a journey through the history of the past century and a rediscovery of the poetic heritage, from Victor Hugo to contemporary poets, including Rimbaud, Vian, Tardieu, Aragon, Prévert, and Jean de La Fontaine, as well as Jacqueline Saint-Jean, Edith Bruck, Amélia Baux, Edith Jacqueneaux, Anne Sylvestre… Thus, the performance explores the relationship with grandparents, evokes their lives, summons love and humor, doesn't forget the war and the Resistance, focuses on the Earth and its climate, and calls upon our dreams of a more just world…
