In the southern Vercors, the unmissable event for stargazers this year becomes The 3 Nights of the Stars!

The VESPA association is partnering with the Les Espelines bookstore located in Vassieux to offer a complete program of astronomical discoveries!

Lecture by astrophysicist Émeric Falize "Observing the solar eclipse and experiencing the night of the stars" followed by a discussion about his book Buffon or the Age of the Earth

Wednesday, August 12: the solar eclipse!

Eclipse observation explained by Gérard Cavalli, astrophysicist.
VR. 18 p.m., no Infernet in Font d’Urle –
• Ascent independently via the GR 93 at your own risk: one hour ascent, 200m elevation gain, easy path.
• Bring hiking boots, a headlamp and warm clothing. Pack a picnic lunch.
• In case of bad weather or completely overcast skies, the observation will be cancelled.
• Loan of observation glasses

Thursday, August 13: La Mure mills site, Vassieux

Afternoon of the Sun and Planets 
• 15:30 p.m.: Free activities for all ages: face painting for children, coloring, quiz on the solar system, puzzle, information panels, planet placement, model, etc.
Observation of the sun through a telescope, with commentary by Gérard Cavalli.

• 17:30 p.m.: Lecture by Émeric Falize, astrophysicist: Journey to the Heart of a Galaxy,
Chronicle of the life of a star.

In the evening, under the stars at the Moulin de la Mure

• 19pm/8:30pm: meal €14/€20 (reservations required, meal times: 04 75 48 27 93 - 07 80 38 61 64)

• 20:30pm/22pm concert: Little Brown Beer is like that legendary Irish drink, fresh, thirst-quenching, but with character and improvisation: come dance, sing, have fun! (free entry)

• 22pm presentation of the constellations and reading of the sky: science and imagination will go hand in hand!
Bring warm clothes.
In case of bad weather, the meal and entertainment will take place in the village hall.
