From the Auberge, descend to the Grand Echaillon signpost (alt. 1162m) . Turn right and enter the forest to reach the Col du Lion (alt. 1191m).

Turn left after the pass. A series of tracks and paths descend to the old Gampaloux farm (alt. 1040m).

Cross the meadow to reach the forest track. Go up through the woods to the Carp Hut (alt. 1140m).

Continue straight ahead on the track to climb back up to the Col du Lion (alt. 1191m).

Take the forest road on the left until the intersection with the D199.

Go back up to the left for 200m. Turn right onto the path between woods and meadow to reach La bergerie du Grand Echaillon (alt. 1185m).

On the right, go down the track then turn left onto the Chemin du Grand Échaillon. Join the Auberge.
