From the Inn go down to the post Grand Echaillon (alt. 1162m). Turn right and head into the forest to reach the Lion Pass (alt. 1191m).

Turn left after the pass. A series of tracks and paths descend to the old farm of Gampaloux (alt. 1040m).

Cross the meadow to join the forest track. Go back up through the woods to the Carpe Barracks (alt. 1140m).

Continue straight on the track to go back up to the Lion Pass (alt. 1191m).

Take the forest road on the left until the intersection with the D199.

Go back up to the left for 200m. Turn right onto the path between the woods and the meadow to reach The Grand Echaillon sheepfold (alt. 1185m).

On the right, go down the track then turn left onto the Chemin du Grand Échaillon. Join the Auberge.
