From the Tourist Office in St Jean en Royans (alt. 252m) go up behind the church and pass the cemetery. Follow the path which leads to Les Cas (alt. 250m).

Turn right onto a singletrack through the undergrowth. Follow alongside a plantation to reach Abisset (alt. 255m).

Go up to the left and cross a road. Further on, take a sometimes rough path to Basses Massières (alt. 282m).

Continue straight ahead up a path in the forest to reach a hairpin bend Sous-Frochet (alt. 365m).

Turn right, go up to Les Massières (alt. 410m) . Go straight down to Rimet (alt. 300m).

Take the path on the left. Pass Les Lamberts (alt. 340m) . Follow the path straight ahead which leads to Thuire. Descend to the D361.

Turn left. Further on, cross the D76 to take a path to La Noyeraie (alt.320m).

Go straight ahead, past the Orthodox chapel. A country path leads to a road. Turn left to reach La Ferronière (alt. 310m).

Turn left to the village of St Martin le Colonel (alt. 327m) . On the right, go up to Les Rats and La Freydière (alt. 358m).

Go straight into the gorge. A small path through the forest leads down to L'Usine de la Plaine (alt.308m).

Go back up the road. Take the path on the right that crosses a pasture. At the houses, descend to La Rousse (alt. 290m).

Continue straight ahead. Paths and small roads lead to Boissieux (alt. 246m) . Turn right to reach La Passerelle (alt. 241m).

Turn left. Cross a bridge. Follow the canal to L'Hermitage (alt. 228m) . Follow the waymarking to return to the starting point.
