Description

At the foot of the Roche Rousse cliffs, this route leads to the source of the Adouin River, to the hamlet of Tourtre, then to the sandpit. The return journey offers a beautiful view of the mountains.

Step-by-step itinerary

De St Martin en Vercors (alt. 753m), go down the road next to the church to reach the Junchards (alt. 753m).

Turn left onto the path that climbs through the fields. Climb the hill to reach La Gisonière (alt. 795m).

Turn right along the houses. The path along an avenue of trees leads to L'Arénier (alt. 765m).

Follow the road to the left. At the next intersection, turn right. Reach a building at Brillet (alt. 762m).

Take a poorly marked path on the left. At the road, turn right to join Les Coinchettes (alt. 762m).

Turn left onto an uphill path. Further on, at the hamlet of Jaunes, reach the "Source de l'Adouin" (alt. 810m).

Go down the road. A The Apparition (alt. 750m), turn right onto the chaotic path to join Tourtre (alt. 711m).

Cross the village, then turn left to the hamlet of Les Moreaux. Continue to the Chemin de Marne et Baudet. Arrive at the D103.

Cross the road and take the path that runs alongside the Vernaison to pass The Sandpit (alt. 720m) then go down to Bobache (alt. 695m).

Cross the bridge and the pumping station. Turn right. Follow the Route des Grands Goulets for 600m. Take the path that climbs to the left, then a trail until The Ale (alt. 734m).

Continue on the path that climbs. Cross the road at Revoux (alt. 744m). Follow the path straight ahead leading to the Carpenters (alt. 755m).

Continue straight ahead. Just before the village, turn left onto the path leading to the village to return to the starting point.
