A family hike alternating between iconic landscapes of the plateau and historical heritage.
Throughout the route, discover a preserved heritage that bears witness to life in bygone days. The Chapel of La Mure, dedicated to Saint Mamert, was for many years an important pilgrimage site. Nestled in a peaceful setting, it offers a charming and historic stop.
Further on, the remains of old windmills recall the agricultural activity that once animated the Vassieux plateau. The village had up to eight windmills, the only ones known in the Alps, taking advantage of the regular winds that sweep across these vast open spaces.
Between rolling paths, typical hamlets and heritage discoveries, this hike offers an authentic immersion in the heart of the Vercors, in a natural setting where history and landscapes meet harmoniously.

Starting from the Vassieux-en-Vercors car park, heading towards Le Château via Les Bourgets , La Frache , then La Mure.
From Le Château , take the road for about 400 meters before taking a path on the left which leads to Les Sables and then to Sapin d'Aimé.
From there, the path becomes hilly but still very pleasant and easy to drive to La Mure.
Reach the village by passing through Les Chèvres , La Grande Peyrouse and Pourlette.
