Take the stairs next to theTourist Office of La Chapel-en-Vercors (alt. 885m) following the yellow and red GRP markings. Go behind the church and take Avenue des Bruyères to reach the crossroads after the cemetery The Bruyères (alt. 908m).

Continue straight on the road, now following the yellow and green markings and cross the hamlet of Jallifiers.

A little after the houses, turn onto the first dirt road that goes off to the right. Follow it to a fork. Turn left onto a small path that climbs a hill and offers lovely views of the village of La Chapelle-en-Vercors. After a short climb, the path descends again and reaches another fork.

Take the stony descent on the right (which can be slippery in wet conditions). The flat soon returns as you approach a crossroads. Turn right onto a pretty path, which, due to its soft, sandy soil, contrasts with the hard stones of the previous descent. The path opens out into the middle of the meadows at Lauzet (alt. 885m).

Find the yellow and red GRP markings. Turn right until you reach the Chaberts (alt. 877m). Now follow the tarmac to return quietly by road to La Chapelle-en-Vercors.

Monitor, at Under the Castle (alt. 883m), before a pin, the shortcut which saves it and takes you to the Castle (alt. 900m). Opportunity to admire the village of La Chapelle-en-Vercors from the castle belvedere: take a small, fairly steep path on the left that goes into the rocks and reaches the site of the old castle. Return to the route by the same path. Continue to the center of the village.
