Starting from the village of Saint-Julien-en-Vercors (alt. 914m) , take the direction Porte du Diable . Take the road passing behind the church then turn left until the Ponson crossroads (alt. 898m).
2
Join Les Barons (alt. 899m) then Le Devet (alt. 884m).
3
The route continues through woods and clearings before emerging onto a rocky outcrop; cross it in a few switchbacks to reach the Moulin Marquis on the left. From there, return towards the Grotte des Gaulois , then follow the cliffs overlooking the cirque of Bournillon.
4
Along the way, admire the beautiful viewpoint overlooking the Bournillon cave and the Moulin Marquis waterfall (caution, especially with children). Hike a few switchbacks through the forest (carefully follow the yellow and green markers) which lead up to the Devil's Gate (alt. 921m).
5
Pass under the rocky bridge, carefully climb a rocky ledge (be careful in wet weather) to reach the Saint-Julien plateau (opposite, a small viewpoint overlooking the Bourne gorges). The return to Saint-Julien-en-Vercors is mostly through undergrowth before reaching the Ponson crossroads (898m altitude) and returning to the starting point via the same path taken on the way up.
