Description

Objectives:
Offer children a practical discovery of an aspect of the sustainable management of our planet's natural resources.
Encourage children to ask questions about the major issues of sustainable development.

Typical schedule: At a minimum, you need to plan 3 times with the children to: - Immerse yourself in the subject and gather the children's ideas (games or discovery workshops), ask questions. - Use the local area to discover one of the aspects (outing), find out more. - Handle and make things, because we also learn with our hands.

The forest. Board games, field trips, craft workshops. A fun way to discover how natural resource management choices lead to very different effects on the environment.

Waste. Treasure hunt, recycled paper making workshop.

Water. A trip along the river nearby. A model of a water treatment plant. Fishing for aquatic invertebrates. A workshop on experiments on the properties of water. A workshop on making a water filter.

Renewable energies. A giant energy puzzle. Practical workshops: how much does a light bulb and a kettle consume? How much does a wind turbine and a solar panel produce? How can I reduce my energy footprint? Models to play with and understand. - A solar fan, a jet car, a geothermal mill, a wind turbine, a solar oven. A workshop: a water mill. Energy research outings.

To conclude all the themes: My Ideal Life: A group workshop using model elements to assemble. Children are tasked with creating pieces of the city, countryside, mountains, and village, taking into account environmental concerns to imagine life in 2050!
