Description

More of a walk than a hike, this itinerary allows families to explore the forest in winter. In the ever-present snow and a natural environment well sheltered from the wind, little ones can imagine themselves the heroes of Nordic adventures!

Step-by-step itinerary

1

From the pole Museum of Prehistory (alt. 1170m), follow the specific snowshoe markings which follow, due south, the same route as the GTV in the direction ofEspeline.

2

From the crossroads Espeline (alt. 1250m), continue in the same direction. The route crosses several intersections and gradually climbs into the forest to reach the place called Baraque du Lauset. Take the beautiful track on the left which goes to the north-east to reach the Lauset Fountain (alt. 1243m).

3

From the crossroads, leave the GTV route via the first track on the left, along the Combe de la Loubatière. Continue on this wide track until you find a new track on the left.

4

Take this trail then cross a small wood. After joining the GR 93 (red and white), reach a small hut.

5

Carefully follow the snowshoe-specific markings at this point. The route leaves the GR to the left, then winds through undergrowth and clearings, before reaching large snowy expanses and then the starting car park.
