From the Resistance Museum post (alt. 1170m) , follow the markings towards Espeline.

At the Espeline crossroads (1250m altitude) , continue in the same direction. The route crosses several intersections and climbs gradually through the forest to reach the Lauzet hut. Take the track to the left to reach the Fontaine du Lauzet (1243m altitude).

Continue straight ahead to reach Les Taillis (alt. 1260m) . Then leave the main track and take the path on the left which continues into the forest.

From Coras (alt. 1353m) , follow the path to the left until you reach the Fontaine du Plainet (alt. 1335m) . Continue on the track to reach Le Plainet (alt. 1327m).

Turn right towards the Vassieux Refuge . Just before entering the clearing at the refuge, start descending straight down the last bend. Find a path that leads back to the La Patte d'Oie crossroads (alt. 1284m).

Take the track that goes northwest halfway around the bend in the main track and continue through the undergrowth.

At the first bend, leave the track and turn right. Following the markings, continue along the path that descends towards the Grand Bois and then opens onto another track in the Loubatière valley.

Take the track on the right. Watch for a new track further on the left. Take it to cross a small wood. Find the GR markings (white-red) and reach a small hut.

Follow the markings carefully. The route leaves the GR on the left, then winds through undergrowth and clearings, before reaching the large snowy expanses and then the starting point.
