Description

A beautiful winter hike through the forest, often in a snowy area sheltered from the wind. This trail will surely transport you to the atmosphere of Nordic countries.

Step-by-step itinerary

From the pole Resistance Museum (alt. 1170m), follow the signs towardsEspeline.

At the crossroads Espeline (alt. 1250m), continue in the same direction. The route crosses several intersections and gradually climbs into the forest to reach the Lauzet hut. Take the track on the left to reach the Lauzet Fountain (alt. 1243m).

Continue straight ahead to reach The Coppices (alt. 1260m)Then leave the main track to take the path on the left which continues through the forest.

De Coras (alt. 1353m), follow the trail to the left until the Plainet Fountain (alt. 1335m). Continue on the track to reach The Plainet (alt. 1327m).

Turn right towards the Shelter of VassieuxJust before entering the refuge clearing, start going straight down the last bend. Find a track that leads back to the crossroads. The Goose Foot (alt. 1284m).

Take the track that goes northwest halfway around the bend in the main track and continue through the undergrowth.

At the first bend, leave the track and turn right. Following the markings, continue along the path that descends towards the Grand Bois and then opens onto another track in the Loubatière valley.

Take the track on the right. Watch for a new track further on the left. Take it to cross a small wood. Find the GR markings (white-red) and reach a small hut.

Follow the markings carefully. The route leaves the GR on the left, then winds through undergrowth and clearings, before reaching the large snowy expanses and then the starting point.
