Description

A beautiful discovery of forest trails, meadows and dizzying viewpoints. The site is also steeped in history, with engraved stone markers marking the border between the territories of the Lord of Sassenage and the Bishop of Die.

Step-by-step itinerary

From the pole Herbouilly Gate (alt. 1280m), in the parking lot, go straight on the snow-covered D221. Follow the edge of the forest along the cross-country ski trail.

Turn left onto the snowshoe trail that winds through the trees. Follow the trail markers to quickly reach a small clearing. Turn left toward the west and reach the Gardette viewpoint.

Continue on the track and watch out for the start of a small track on the right in a hollow. Follow it, go up a little before going back down to Pot du Loup (alt. 1300m).

At the intersection of the cross-country ski trails, continue straight ahead on the white path.

Turn right into the woods to tackle a steep climb. Follow the balcony track through the woods, then descend and find the cross-country ski trail. Cross it, follow the snowshoe trail markings between the trees to end up behind the inn. Roybon (alt. 1300m)Go around it on the left to reach the snowy road and turn right.

After the hostel, at the fork, go down to the left. Quickly reach the reception building and then the parking lot.
