This indicator, updated daily, allows you to anticipate conditions favorable to the outbreak of fires and to adopt the right reflexes. The information is provided for guidance purposes only; in case of high or very high risk, remember to also check with the relevant authorities for any access restrictions to forested areas.
Forest weather: understanding the fire risk level
Weather conditions greatly influence the start and spread of fires.
With the aim of preventing fires and so that everyone can adapt their behavior according to the foreseeable danger, the Forest Weather indicates a level of forest fire danger established from meteorological forecasts and the dryness of the vegetation.
This information is delivered at the departmental level for the following day and the day after, with 4 levels of representation of the danger: low, moderate, high, very high.
The Forest Weather service does not provide information on current or future fires. A low danger level does not mean there is no risk of fire in the department.
Depending on local circumstances, municipalities and prefectures may restrict access to fire-prone areas and activities. Check your prefecture's website for details.

The 4 levels of vigilance
🟢 Low danger : Forecast weather conditions and recent rainfall reduce the risk of the start and spread of forest and vegetation fires.
🟡 Moderate danger : Weather conditions do not significantly increase the risk of the start and spread of forest and vegetation fires compared to summer norms.
The risk of fires may be locally high.
🟠 High danger : Weather conditions significantly increase the risk of the start and spread of forest and vegetation fires compared to summer norms.
The risk of fires can be very high in some areas.
🔴 Very high danger : Weather conditions make the risk of outbreak and spread of forest and vegetation fires very high compared to summer norms.
