Description

A veritable paradise with a thousand springs for a vast botanical world tour. Rare plants acclimatized in a sumptuous natural setting of ponds and waterfalls. Magic moment, discover the phenomenon of petrification, when water becomes stone.

In order to preserve the authenticity of the local curiosities which have long made the village famous, the Garden of Petrifying Fountains was created in 1994. Nestled in an exceptional setting in France, between the Isère and a cliff from which Waterfalls flow forming small pools (gours) over time, this garden offers a unique experience.

For nearly a thousand years, these mysterious springs have had the particularity of covering everything in their path with a thin layer of calcite crystals, thus transforming various objects, moss and plants into an astonishing rock called tuff. Around this rock formation, a harmonious and original composition brings together more than 800 species of flowers and plant forms, offering a veritable tour of the botanical world with the presence of exotic, Mediterranean, aquatic and tropical plants.

A floral and plant symphony, brought to life by the water, begins gently until it forms vast calm pools and a beautiful waterfall. Discovery of the intimacy of this mineral paradise where nature is not tamed by the gardener, but revisited by his creative thinking, with the sole aim of protecting the earth's plant mantle.

The harmony between water, flowers, wood and rock creates a bucolic setting, inviting visitors to immerse themselves in this oasis of natural beauty.
