Description

Place of memory recounting the tragic events of July 1944 at the Chapelle en Vercors

On July 25, 1944, German soldiers arrived at the Chapelle en Vercors. They rounded up the population and took sixteen young people hostage. The same evening, while the village was set on fire, these boys were executed in the courtyard of a farm ("La cour des chasses").
Inside the restored barn which adjoins the courtyard, a museum space pays tribute to these martyrs.
