The Col Naturel de Rousset invites you to follow one of the old communication routes that once connected Die to Grenoble and remained in use until 1875. This short hike allows you to trace the threads of history while enjoying an exceptional natural setting. From the viewpoint, the view encompasses a vast panorama of the Die valley, the impressive cliffs of the Glandasse, and the Vercors High Plateaus Nature Reserve. A true balcony overlooking the landscapes of the Diois and Vercors regions, this site offers a remarkable viewpoint where heritage, unspoiled nature, and wide-open spaces blend together. Between forest paths, clearings, and sweeping vistas, this walk is an ideal getaway to discover the natural and historical treasures of the Col de Rousset.

Step-by-step itinerary

Start from the Col de Rousset station parking lot . Go through the roundabout and take the direction of Vassieux-en-Vercors indicated by the road signs, before picking up 100 meters further on a track (Grande traversée du Vercors) which goes off to the left behind the large building of the Departmental Directorate of Equipment.

Follow this road to the Les Gauras crossroads.

Then turn left to go up into the forest and then across a lawn to reach the Col Naturel (exceptional viewpoint over the whole region).

At this crossroads, we find the GR93 coming from Vassieux-en-Vercors which you must take to reach La Combe.

The return to the Col de Rousset ends with a track that crosses part of the resort's ski area.
