A family walk offering a magnificent panorama upon arrival at the castle ruins.

In a few kilometers, part of which is undergrowth, imagine for a moment in the Middle Ages, when the castle, now in ruins, defended the entrance to Royans!

Step-by-step itinerary

From the parking lot of the Rochechinard House-Museum, head towards The castleTake the path that also serves as the route for the Great Vercors Crossing on foot, passing through Corbières Rocks (alt. 550m) and Les Cartelats (alt. 595m).

At the castle ruins, after admiring the view, continue towards Rochechinard Museum via a pretty little path through the boxwood to reach The Coasts (alt. 547m). (The GTV continues towards the north towards Saint Nazaire-en-Royans, while the GRP des Monts du Matin arrives (from the same village).

From there, descend to Wood Savoyard (alt. 524m) and turn right to return by road to the museum car park, the starting point of the hike.
