Description
At the foot of the Bauges Regional Natural Park, a UNESCO Geopark, La Belle Via begins on the Savoie side on the shores of Lake Bourget, the largest natural lake in France, bordered by wine-growing villages, beaches and marinas.
Throughout the year, the route departs from Aix-les-Bains, a spa town with a rich ancient and Belle Époque heritage. The cycle route follows the lake along a very scenic panoramic cycle path to Le Bourget-du-Lac, and then joins Chambéry, a city of Art and History, via the Leysse greenway, one of the first greenways in France and very popular with Savoyard cyclists commuting by bike!
