Step-by-step itinerary

From the station parking lot Font d'Urle (alt. 1436m), head towards the residential chalets following the direction Hot Hutch. North of the village, leave the tarmac and take a path that descends into a valley to the Lapiaz ski lift (alt. 1378m).

Turn right and join the D76 at the station buildings. Hot Clapier (alt. 1417m).

Go up the road to the right towards the Chau MeadowAt the intersection, continue along the road.

Leave it after 150m to turn right onto a path parallel to the road, towards the Col de la Chau. The path soon leads to the Chau meadow (alt. 1325m).

At the crossroads, turn right towards the Font Payanne Pass.

At the hairpin bend, continue on the track to the left. After the second hairpin bend, the track continues along a balcony (Viewpoints overlooking the Vassieux valley in Vercors; two designated areas offer scenic exploration of the surrounding area.). Reach the intersection of Gagères (alt. 1450m). At 50m, a panoramic view overlooking the Quint valley and the Rochers de Pêteloup to the north.

Leave the track and take the GR93 on the right towards the Pot of the Cross. In the forest the slope becomes steeper and the path opens onto the grassy areas of the Gagère plateau. From there, it is possible to climb to the summit of Puy de la Gagère to enjoy a superb 360° panorama (10 min round trip)Continue following the path across the lawns until you reach Pot of the Cross (alt. 1544m).

Continue on the plateau towards Urle Font.

Find the road and turn left to return to the starting point.
